Why the Jones Journal
Local communities deserve clear, accurate information about the decisions that affect their daily lives. In recent years, it has become harder, not easier, for residents to find timely, well-sourced reporting about local government, schools, and community institutions. The Jones Journal was created to help fill that gap.
The Jones Journal is a locally rooted publication focused on transparency, accountability, and community storytelling. Our goal is simple: to inform residents, explain how decisions are made, and highlight the people and efforts that shape life in Jones and the surrounding area.
This publication will cover municipal governance, public meetings, elections, financial decisions, and policies that impact residents. It will also make space for community news, including schools, athletics, service organizations, and moments worth celebrating. Not every story is about controversy, but every story deserves accuracy and context.
The Jones Journal is guided by the principle found in Philippians 4:8, to focus on what is true, honorable, just, and worthy of consideration. That does not mean avoiding difficult topics. It means addressing them fairly, responsibly, and without personal attacks. Criticism, when necessary, will be directed at actions and systems, not individuals.
This publication is independent and locally supported. Subscriptions make it possible to dedicate time to attending meetings, reviewing public records, and presenting information in a way that is accessible and useful to the community.
The Jones Journal is not here to inflame, speculate, or sensationalize. It exists to document, explain, and preserve a record of what happens in our community so residents can stay informed and engaged.
Thank you for reading, and for supporting local journalism.
Blessings,
The Jones Journal Team
