Small but Mighty: Jones Fourth-Grade Cheerleaders Take Their Talents to New Heights

Young Longhorn cheerleaders give the hometown crowd a sneak peek ahead of their first competition.

A cool breeze drifted through the October evening as the fourth-grade Jones Longhorns celebrated their Little League homecoming Sunday. The stands were filled with family and friends watching as fourth graders somewhat reluctantly escorted their homecoming counterparts through the balloon arches, then quickly retreated to the safety of their friends. But once the homecoming festivities wrapped up, the fourth-grade cheerleaders had another surprise for the crowd. The girls took the field for a sneak peek of the competition routine they’ve been working on for months, complete with coordinated stunts, impressive lifts and plenty of Longhorn spirit.
